Who we are

This website belongs to Toucan Glass, the trading name of Toucan-UK Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 12261733) whose registered office is Unit 4 Carlton Road Business Park, Carlton Road, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1EF. Our showroom is at 4 Carlton Business Park, Carlton Road, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1EF. We decide how the personal information described here is used, which makes us its controller under UK data protection law. What we collect

• When you send us an enquiry: your name, email address, phone number, the address and postcode where the work would be, your message, and any drawings, plans or photos you upload.
• When you ask for a brochure: your name, phone number and email address.
• When you ask for a quote on our quote form: your name, email address, phone number and the postcode of the job, the windows, doors and glazing you want with how many and their rough sizes, whether it is a new build or a replacement, when you would like the work done, your rough budget, whether you have drawings, any drawings, plans or photos you upload, what you tell us about the job, and how you found us.
• Your choice about offers and news, from the tick box on our forms.
• How you found us, if you accept cookies: the advert, search or website that brought you to us, which we send along with your enquiry. See our cookie policy.
• How our website is used, if you accept cookies, through Google Analytics and Google Ads.

How we use it, and why we are allowed to

• To answer your enquiry, and to quote for, survey, supply and fit the work you ask about. We do this because you asked us to, as a step towards a contract with you, and then to carry out that contract.
• To send you the brochure you asked for.
• To send you offers and news, only if you ticked the box to say yes. Ticking it is always your choice, never a condition of an enquiry or a brochure, and you can change your mind at any time: reply to one of our emails or contact us, and we will stop.
• To see how our website and our adverts are working, only if you accept cookies.
• To keep the records the law requires, such as our accounts.
• To keep our website working and secure, which is in our legitimate interests and yours.

We do not sell your information, and only Toucan Glass uses it: nobody else receives your details for their own use.

Who we share it with

Only the companies that provide the services we run our business on, each using your information only to do that job for us:

• Vercel, which hosts this website and its forms.
• Resend, which sends the emails our website sends, such as your brochure, your estimate and our reply that we have received your enquiry.
• Microsoft, whose email service we use.
• Business Pilot, the customer management system we keep enquiries and customer records in: every enquiry, brochure request and quote request you send through this website goes into it, with any plans you upload.
• Seonat Ltd, the agency that builds and looks after our website and customer records system, on our instructions.
• Google, only if you accept cookies (Google Analytics and Google Ads); when you choose to play one of our videos (YouTube); and when a page shows our location on Google Maps.

Some of these companies may handle your information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK’s data bridge with the United States or the standard contract terms approved for these transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and customer records for as long as we reasonably need them: to deal with your enquiry, to carry out and stand behind any work we do for you, and to keep the records the law requires, such as our accounts. When we no longer need them, we delete them.

Your rights

You can ask us:

• for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• to correct it if it is wrong;
• to delete it, or to stop or limit how we use it;
• to send it to you, or to another company, in a common format.

You can also object to how we use your information, and withdraw any consent you have given, at any time. To do any of this, email robert@toucan-glass.co.uk or call 01233 622222. It is free, and we will reply within one month.

Making a complaint

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first and we will put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date below.
